5 Asian bishops nominated to the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue
October 27, 2012: Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Members of the Pontifical Council
for Interreligious Dialogue, on Saturday. Among them are Cardinal Fernando Filoni,
Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples; Salvatore Fisichella,
President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, and five
bishops from Asia. They are Angelito R. LAMPON, O.M.I., Titular Bishop. of Valliposita,
Vicar Apostolic of Jolo Philippines; Chusak Sirisut Joseph, Bishop of Nakhon
Ratchasima, Thailand; Sebastian Francis SHAH, OFM, Titular Bishop. Tino, Auxiliary
Bishop of Lahore, Pakistan, Peter Takeo Okada, Archbishop of Tokyo, Japan
andJean Benjamin Sleiman, OCD, Archbishop of Baghdad of the Latins, Iraq. The
other members of the Commission areDaniel Joseph BOHAN, Archbishop
of Regina (Canada), Michel DUBOST, CIM, Bishop of Evry Corbeil Essonnes (France);
