God's visit to Chile: Saint Alberto Hurtado Cruchaga:
(Vatican Radio) October 23rd marks the 7th anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI's canonisation
of Chilean Alberto Hurtado Cruchaga, founder of the ‘Hogar de Cristo’. To mark this
occasion Veronica Scarisbrick brings you an interview with a fellow Jesuit who personally
knew him. He's Cardinal Roberto Tucci.
In this interview the Cardinal introduces
us to this charismatic character who died in 1952 and was beatified by John Paul
II on the 16th October 1994 in the nation’s capital Santiago.
Listen to the
Cardinal's personal memories which date back to the 1940's. Memories which place
this Saint's ideas on social justice into the context of the time.

is interspersed with a Vatican Radio recording of the voice of of Blessed John Paul
II during the beatification ceremony.
