Chinese Bishop from Taiwan gives his thoughts on the Synod
The Synod for Bishops on the New Evangelization on Tuesday held its second day of
interventions. Among the Synod participants is Chinese Bishop Martin Su Yao-wen of
Taichung in Taiwan. As one of only two Chinese bishops at the Synod [the other is
Cardinal John Tong Hon of Hong Kong], he told us he feels a special responsibility
to keep the Catholics of mainland China in his thoughts.
“I wish to pray for
them, that they can have more grace from God to face their challenges,” he said.
He
told Vatican Radio a personal relationship with God is the key to the New Evangelization.
“Once
again we come back to our deep faith in God. We find our core is God’s love. Let
us everyone deepen our relationship with God to feel his grace, and then we can live
joyfully to spread the Gospel.”
