Mexico: president-elect vows to fight violent crime


Mexico's President Elect is vowing to radically reduce violent crime. Enrique Peña Nieto, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party- known as PRI, who won the July 1st Presidential Election outlined his law and order policy in a speech at the National Anthropology Museum, to 300 of Mexico's most prominent leaders, from all walks of legitimate life. He stressed that his incoming government will improve security. He noted that homicides have more than doubled nationwide, during the last six years, while kidnapping and extorsion have also surged. Peña Nieto explained that there's going to be a national strategy, which will coodinate Federal, State and Municipal forces, stressing the increase in criminality is NOT going to be permitted.
