Archbishop Tartaglia of Glasgow: challenges and opportunities
(Vatican Radio) Pope Benedict XVI this week appointed a new Archbishop of Glasgow:
Philip Tartaglia, who is to be installed in St Andrew’s Cathedral on September 8th.
A native of Glasgow, the 61 year-old Archbishop Tartaglia has a keen sense of the

he told reporters, “a great honour for me to be appointed Archbishop of my native
city and diocese," which he promises to serve with, “affection and devotion.” Archbishop
Tartaglia also asks for the prayers of all the faithful. "I know I can only be a good
bishop with help from above,” he said. Archbishop Tartaglia spoke with Vatican
Radio’s Chris Altieri about the challenges and opportunities facing him in his new
