July 21, 2012: To commemorate the beginning of the Year of Faith announced by Pope
Benedict XVI, Catholic Bishops Conference of India office for Youth in collaboration
with Delhi Charismatic Renewal Services plan to conduct National Youth Retreat 2012.
The retreat is based upon the theme ‘Faith’ and is named ‘Move The Mountains-MTM’.
It will be held on 21-24 October at Jeevan Jyoti Ashram in the Indian capital, Delhi.
Pope Benedict XVI declared 2012-2013 as the Year of Faith. It begins on October
2012, the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council.
“The Year of Faith will be a moment of grace and commitment to a more complete conversion
to God, to strengthen our faith in Him and proclaim Him with joy to the people of
our time,” said the Pope, while making the announcement.
Any Catholic Youth
between the ages of 15-30 is eligible to participate in the ‘Move The Mountains-MTM’
retreat from all the dioceses of India. Around 4000 participants are expected to
participate in the national retreat. The organizing team has started the preparations
by forming different committees and has finished the first round of volunteers’ training.
All the Bishops of India have already been informed about this retreat through
the official letter along with brochures and posters. The retreat unifies all catholic
youth from across India.
Jeevan Jyoti Ashram where the retreat is to be held
is in the territory of the Archdiocese of Delhi managed by the Delhi Charismatic Renewal
Services. It is set up in a 6 acre campus away from the main city with a huge convention
ground, Auditorium and accommodation facilities.
