Next Catholic-Muslim meeting to look at materialism


It was announced on Wednesday the Islamic – Catholic Liaison Committee will meet in the first week of July, 2013, and discuss the theme: “Believers in front of materialism and secularism”. Eight participants from each side will participate

The Committee met on Tuesday in Rome to discuss the relations between Christians and Muslims in the current situation of the world.

The Catholic side was led by His Eminence Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue. The Muslim side was led President Hamid bin Ahmad Al-Rifaie, President for the International Islamic Forum for Dialogue.

The dialogue was officially begun in 1995.
