Islamic-Catholic Liaison Committee hold Meeting in Rome.
(11.07. 2012) Islamic and Catholic experts held a meeting in Rome on Tuesday to discuss
Christian-Muslim relations in the current situation of the world. The Islamic-Catholic
Liaison Committee held an extraordinary Meeting in which the Catholic side was led
by Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious
Dialogue. Prof. Dr. Hamid bin Ahmad Al-Rifaie, President for the International Islamic
Forum for Dialogue led the Islamic side. In order to continue their deliberations,
and in the continuity of the dialogue existing since 1995, the two parties agreed
to hold the next meeting of the Committee in Rome in the first week of July 2013,
with 8 participants from each side. The theme of the meeting will be: “Believers faced
by materialism and secularism”.
