Archbishop Menamparambil’s book on environment


(July 05, 2012) A book by retired Indian Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil of Guwahati approaches the issue of ecology and environment with ethical and moral values. The book entitled, “All Creation Groans With Pain,” raises some fundamental concerns about the protection of environment and critiques the problems we face in the preservation of environment,” said Devabrot Khanikor, Principal of Sonapur College, who released the book July 3, on the occasion of the feast of St. Thomas. The chief guest added that the book also motivates the reader spiritually. Khanikor appreciated the “holistic approach to the issue of ecology along with ethics and values”. Guest of Honour, PJ Baruah, Executive editor of Assam Tribune said the book will appeal to a wide range of readers. Archbishop Menamparampil addressing the gathering highlighted the importance of a change in the behaviour of human beings to ensure environmental security. His earlier works include ‘Never Grow Tired," "A Sense of Responsibility," and "Thinking Reed."
