“We’re a group of young people who aspire to bring other young people to the heart
of the Church,” said James Mahon, national leader of Youth 2000, one of many youth
groups participating in the International Eucharistic Congress. “We do this through
our three pillars: Number one is devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist. Number two is
devotion to Mary. And three is devotion to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.”
He
said the Congress has been good for his country: “I believe that this Congress is
not just good for Dublin, it’s good for Ireland. . . . I believe that its such a real
beacon of hope for young people in Ireland, and for people in general.”
Mahon
said the fruits of the Eucharistic Congress will continue: “The Lord, I really feel,
has poured his blessing on Ireland, on the Irish Church this week.”
