Pope urges prayers for success of World Meeting of Families

(May 28, 2012) Pope Benedict XVI on Sunday invited all Christians to unite themselves with and pray for the Catholic Church 7th World Meeting of Families, starting on Wednesday in northern Italy’s Milan city, in which he will participate on the final three days. “The Family: Work and Celebration,” is the theme of the May 30 – June 3 international event. In remarks in Italian and English after reciting the midday “Regina Coeli” in St. Peter’s Square on Pentecost Sunday, the Pope asked all to join him “in praying for the success of this important event, and that families may be filled with the Holy Spirit, rediscover the joy of their vocation in the Church and the world, and bear loving witness to the faith.”
