Iran agrees to Moscow meeting on nuclear programme

Iran and world powers have agreed to meet again in Moscow next month for more talks to try to end the long-running dispute over Tehran's nuclear programme. The United States, one of the six world powers involved in this week's Baghdad talks, provided inducements for Iran to stop processing uranium to levels necessary to make nuclear weapons. But Iran has refused to stop its 20 percent enrichment activity as a pre-requisite for further progress.

The EU, another member of the six powers structure, was representing by its foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.

``It is clear that we both want to make progress, and that there is some common ground,'' she said. ``However, significant differences remain. Nonetheless, we do agree on the need for further discussion to expand that common ground.''
