Egyptians will go to the polls on Wednesday to pick a president from 12 candidates
vying to replace deposed leader Hosni Mubarak.
The top candidates are: Ahmed
Shafiq, a former commander of the air force, Amr Moussa, who has served as foreign
minister and head of the Arab League, Mohammed Mursi, who heads Muslim Brotherhood's
Freedom and Justice Party, and Abdul Moneim Aboul Fotouh, an independent Islamist
candidate.
None of the candidates is expected to secure more than half the
votes to win outright, and there will likely be a run-off between the top two vote-getters
in June.
