Official results in Senegal confirm opposition win

Official results released on Tuesday confirm that opposition candidate Macky Sall won Sunday’s presidential election in Senegal. The Former prime minister won with an overwhelming 65.8 % of the vote.

The west African country had suffered violence when incombent president Abdoulaye Wade decided to run for a third term. He conceded defeat on Sunday.

Sall will assume office after his inauguration on April 3.
