The Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations in Geneva, Archbishop
Silvano Tomasi on Wednesday addressed the 19th Session of the Human Rights
Council on the issue of Minorities.
His speech marked the 20th anniversary
of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National
or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities.
Speaking to Vatican Radio
following his address Archbishop Tomasi said, “this is the occasion for the international
community to look with a critical eye on how these minorities are dealt with”
