(March 03.2012) A top Vatican official has remarked that silence was the hallmark
of the papal retreat, which concluded Saturday. Jesuit father Federico Lombardi,
head of Vatican’s Press office reminded his readers that at the World Social Communications
Day, the Pope had spoken of Silence which gives the opportunity of listening to others
and to God. Silence helps us to sort out the meaningful messages from among the medley
of messages that flood our lives daily, but are useless and superficial. He said
this in his weekly editorial called “Octava Dies”, the eighth day.
