The United Nations Security Council is demanding that Syria allows their humanitarian
chief into the country. In a presidential statement, the first from the 15 member
council on Syria in over 6 months, the council says Valerie Amos must be allowed immediate
and unhindered access. Amos has been waiting to get into Syria from neighbouring countries
for several days. Meanwhile, The Red Cross is due to enter the Baba Amr district of
the Syrian city of Homs on Friday to deliver food and medical supplies after a month-long
siege.
