A series of attacks across Iraq Thursday morning killed at least 50 people. The bombings
and shootings unfolded over four hours in the capital Baghdad and 11 other cities,
and appeared to target the dominant Shia Muslim community. One bomb went off near
a school, injuring several children. The blasts hit just weeks before Baghdad plans
to host an Arab League summit, which was cancelled last year due to fears of violence
in the country.
