Pope honoured with a ski medal

(Feb. 22, 2012) Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday was presented a gold medal by the organizers of the Junior World Ski Championships. The Pope met the organizers at the at the end of the weekly general audience in the Vatican. The gold medal was coined specially for this meeting with the Pontiff. The Junior World Ski championships will take place in Roccaraso, Italy from February 29 to March 9. Taking part in the World Ski championships will be 150 athletes from 50 nations, all aged between 15 and 20 years.
