Auxiliary Bishop of the Bombay Archdiocese resigns

(January 14. 2012) The Holy Father accepted on Saturday the resignation from office of Bishop Bosco Penha, auxiliary of of canon law. the Archdiocese of Bombay, on reaching the age of retirement at 75, in accordance with the rules of the church. Born at Bombay and ordained a priest there in 1967,. he was appointed auxiliary Bishop of Bombay in 1987. He has been a priest for over 44 years and was a Bishop for over 24 years.
