Poverty on the increase in Ireland

For many living in the Republic of Ireland, 2012 will be another difficult year despite a eurozone bailout.This year unemployment grew and the gap between the well off and the poor increased.
“In the past year poverty has risen in Ireland and that’s quite interesting because of the fact that the poverty line has actually fallen by more than 10 %”, says Director of Social Justice Ireland, Fr Sean Healy.
