(December 19, 2011) Pope Benedict XVI on Monday received Paraguay’s new ambassador
to the Holy See, Mr. Esteban Kristovic. At a formal ceremony in the Vatican, the
Pope received the credentials of the new ambassador. According to a recent change
in the Vatican protocol, there is no more an exchange of official discourses during
the presentation of credentials by ambassadors. Kristovic, who was born in 1971
has a doctoral degree in law and diplomacy and has taught Canon Law and professional
ethics. He has worked at Paraguay’s Supreme Court and also is lawyer of Paraguay’s
metropolitan ecclesiastical tribunal. Kristovic has also authored numerous publications,
among them Paraguay’s juridical ethical code.
