Catholic Action Italy is a non-political lay Catholic Association which is supported
by the Italian Bishops’ Conference. On Monday, the youth of this association got the
chance to come to the Vatican to exchange Christmas greeting with the Holy Father.
Pope Benedict congratulated all the young people gathered and their teachers
for all their initiatives throughout the year, saying “Bravo” or “Well Done”
The
Pope also called on them to always be sensitive to those who need help just as Jesus
was.
The Holy Father went on to say that many times in you live’s, even today,
you will have heard the expression, “Get up, your being called”.
The Pope
explained that although we hear our parents say it to us, perhaps early in the morning,
the words also signify the call to remember Jesus in prayer and the call to lead Christian
lives.
Pope Benedict urged the youth present to respond to the Lord’s call
to be loving and giving to others. Be courageous, he said, in giving God an answer.
