New Catholic TV channel launched in India

(Dec. 07, 2011) In India, a new Catholic Satellite Television Channel named Prarthana Bhawan was launched at Jalandhar, Punjab recently. Archbishop Vincent Concessao of Delhi, and Bishop Anil Joseph Couto of Jalandhar blessed the launch of the new channel directed by
Fr. Basil and his team. The official inauguration of the channel is due to take place shortly. Fr. Basil said the primary aim of the channel is to spread God’s message of love to all people in India and abroad. Prarthana Bhawan TV has been granted the license to telecast in all Indian languages but plans to focus on programmes in Hindi, Punjabi and English. The channel is telecasting its programmes on cable network and satellite.
