The pope speaks to children in Cotonou

One of the most moving events on Pope Benedict’s busy schedule in Benin on Saturday was his meeting with children in Benin's economic capital, Cotonou. The Pope told the children that the day of his First Holy communion was one of the most beautiful days in his life and he also gave details about his own prayer life. Pope Benedict was speaking to around 800 children gathered at St. Rita’s parish in Contonou. His talk with the youngsters followed a visit to a nearby residential home for abandoned, sick and malnourished children that is run by sisters of the Missionaries of Charity order.
