A Note released on Monday by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace calling
for major reform of the world’s financial systems, is continuing to generate reaction.
One of the organisations that has welcomed it’s publication is the UK based Catholic
development and relief agency CAFOD.
Lydia O’Kane spoke to CAFOD's economist
Christina Weller, who called the document “very timely”.
“The document reminds
us that there are issues that need to be urgently addressed. They were urgent back
in 2008 but they remain unresolved”.
Ms Weller also adds that other important
issues such as climate change and the development agenda have been sidelined as G20
leaders go into crisis mode. Listen
