Lateran Pacts trigger the founding of Vatican Radio
Historian ,Jesuit Father Gerald Fogarty helps us better understand the connection
between the Lateran Pacts and the founding of Vatican Radio .
Father Fogarty
begins by affording us some background surrounding the Roman Question: the signing
of the Lateran Treaty and the Concordat between the Holy See and the Italian State
on the 11th February 1929: "...the Lateran Treaty guaranteed the creation of Vatican
City State , the spiritual sovereignty of the Holy See therefore. The Concordat regulated
relationships between the Vatican and the Italian government within Italy and then
finally there was a third pact relating to financial remuneration and so forth ".
