(August 27, 2011) Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski, President of the Vatican Council
for Health Care Workers addressed the Rimini meeting on Friday highlighting the certainty
of health. During the last week of August, Rimini becomes the international capital
of culture and gets invaded by people from all over the world for this event that
has taken taken place yearly, since more than thirty years. Rimini in North eastern
Italy is a city on the Adriatic coast. This Meeting for the Friendship Amongst Peoples
was born in 1980, under the patronage of the association known as Communion and Liberation
founded by Fr Luigi Guissani. In his discourse Archbishop Zimowski pointed out the
physical and spiritual aspects of healthcare and reminded Christians to respect and
promote the wellbeing and dignity of all persons, created to the image and likeness
of God He stressed the necessity of extending basic healthcare to each and every
person and of humanizing medical healing. He thanked the volunteers who like Good
Samaritans care for the sick. He announced that the 26th meeting of his dicastery
, due to be held at the Vatican from 24th to 26th November will have as its theme
pastoral health care in the light of the teaching of Blessed John Paul II.
