Those of you who are staying around Rome this summer might notice some Melodies &
Memories repeats. Hopefully, I’ve chosen the features well, so that they don’t sound
out of place and so that you’ll be looking forward with me to an eventful Fall. One
thing that particularly inspires me about September is the broadcast of an interview
I did in July with CJ Snare.
CJ was a great guest, even though he was still
rather sleepy at 8 am Central time in the U.S. when the phone interview began. It
did not take him long to get on a roll. I was impressed not only by CJ’s outgoing,
forthright personality, but also by his business acumen. All my expectations of what
rock stars were supposed to be like, I discovered to be wrong.
As front man
to the historic rock group FireHouse, CJ has inspiring stories and insights to share
with us; from how hit songs are written, to how the band is received by fans around
the world. We’ll listen to a vintage FireHouse hit from the Nineties as well as something
from CJ’s 2011 release “Rubicon Cross” made in collaboration with UK guitarist Chris
Green.
The feature with CJ Snare will air on Friday, September 16th
at 2:30 pm, so please do tune in so as not to miss out. While interviewing artists
does take me a little outside of my “comfort zone”, I was thrilled at the quality
of the answers my questions got. It’s not every day one gets to talk with a singer,
songwriter, and musician of CJ Snare’s calibre, and a simply nice person to boot.
