Vatican Radio 1950 : Pius XII speaks to the United States
It was 1950, in the aftermath of the Second World War, when Pius XII spoke through
the microphones of Vatican Radio to another Catholic Radio in the United States.
The radio station in question was ‘The Catholic Hour’ celebrating over a quarter
of a century of broadcasting .
The occasion provided an opportunity for
this twentieth century Roman Pontiff to express both gratitude to the people of
the United States for their concern during the war years as well as admiration
for the marvels of modern science.
