Two years on from the start of the global economic crisis and from the publication
of Pope Benedict’s encyclical Caritas in Veritate, the Church’s message is
still not getting through to the people and places where economic and monetary policies
are being made.
That’s according to officials at the Vatican’s Justice and
Peace Council who are organising an Executive Summit on Ethics for the Business World,
bringing in CEO’s and chairmen and women of global corporations and financial institutions
to reflect upon new directions and best practises that take ethics seriously.
The
meeting, due to take place at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences in the Vatican gardens
from June 16th to 18th, is being co-sponsored by Regina Apostolorum
university the Fidelis International Institute run by the Legionaries of Christ.
