(May 21, 2011) Pope Benedict XVI has issued an apostolic letter naming Cardinal
Salvatore De Giorgi retired Archbishop of Palermo as his delegate to the Diocesan
Jubilee celebrations of Pozzuoli a town in the south Italian city of Naples. The apostle
Paul had landed,1950 years ago at Pozzuoli on his way to Rome, from which it was
170 miles distant. Here he stayed for seven days as related in the acts of the Apostles,
and then began with his companions his journey by the Appian Way to Rome. It is this
jubilee that the diocese is celebrating. The celebrations will take place on May 30th.
