Queen Elizabeth II is visiting the medieval Rock of Cashel, an old English Market
in Cork and a high-tech research facility today before returning to Britain at the
conclusion of her four-day state visit to the Republic of Ireland.
The ambitious
trip has been hailed by many as consolidating a new era of cooperation between the
two neighbours that have often been adversaries.
“There are many many highlights
but…I would say the speech is the highlight”, says Irish Times Rome Correspondent,
Paddy Agnew.
Speaking to Lydia O’Kane about the Queen's address at a state
dinner in Dublin Castle, he adds that, “if you look at the full text of that speech
it is going to be a speech that people will look at and go back to for a long time
in the future.”
During her stay the monarch also visited Croke Park Stadium,
and the Irish National Stud. Listen
