If you've been following Pope John Paul's beatification on-line, the chances are you'll
have seen videos, pictures or first hand accounts, not just on Vatican or official
media sites, but posted by bloggers recounting the ceremonies here in Rome.
The
blogosphere plays an increasingly significant role in the Church's outreach, connecting
the fast growing community of men and women of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds,
who recount their personal experiences and share material from many other sources
through the big social network sites.
In an effort to try and bring together
some of these key figures, to support them in their work and assess their impact on
the Church today, the Vatican’s Council for Social Communication is hosting a bloggers’
