Details of Pope’s June visit to Croatia released


(April 18, 2011) Pope Benedict XVI’s two-day visit to the Croatian capital, Zagreb, early June, will include meetings with the president, young people and representatives of religions and the world of culture, learning, business and diplomatic corps. The details of the Pope’s June 4 and 5 visit were released by the Vatican on Monday. After his meeting with President Ivo Josipović on June 4 the Pope will address a important gathering of representatives of the political, academic, cultural and business sectors along with the diplomatic corps and religious leaders. The first day will end with a prayer vigil with young people. The following day, June 5, Sunday, the Pope will celebrate an open-air Mass on the occasion of the Croatian Church’s Family Day. Later in the evening he will pray the Vespers with the bishops, priests, religious and seminarians before flying back to Rome.
