Pope to remember victims of paedophilia on April 25

(April, 12, 2011) Pope Benedict XVI will remember the victims of paedophilia during his traditional mid-day Angelus address on April 25, the day marked marked as World Child Abuse Awareness Day by many organizations. A children's advocacy group is inviting friends and volunteers to attend the Pope’s Angelus address that day. The Italy-based “Meter Association” will gather with the Pope to mark the day as the 15th Day for “Child Victims of Violence, Exploitation and Indifference”.
The founder of the association, Fr. Fortunato Di Noto, noted that April 25 this year falls on Easter Monday. He called this "a luminous way" to "coincide with the theme of the day: 'We Have Found Life Again.”
Fr. Di Noto said "Easter is receiving the gift of new life in Jesus Christ, who has defeated death and, who better than us, can witness to all the life we have received, and how much life has been reborn after negation, violence, suffering and death”. The priest said the gathering will be a chance to "live a gift that comes from the Lord - communion among ourselves, to be witnesses of love for the little ones and the weak."
