Belgian Nunciature: CDF orders disgraced bishop to leave country, enter treatment

The Apostolic Nunciature in Belgium has issued a communiqué explaining that the disgraced former bishop of Bruges in Belgium, Roger Vangheluwe, has been ordered to quit Belgium and enter into spiritual and psychological treatment. The order came from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and follows an announcement from the Belgian prosecutor’s office earlier this week that the bishop cannot be indicted under Belgian law, due to a statute of limitations.
