This week is National Marriage Week in the UK. It aims to motivate and empower people
to support marriage in the community and to promote marriage as an important basis
for stable family and community life.
Speaking about the week Archbishop
of Westminster Vincent Nichols said, "it provides the opportunity for people to focus
on this important and vital relationship within society".
“When you talk
to people, and certainly in the work that our co-ordinators are doing in the dioceses,
what comes across really strongly is that most people want to be married”, says Hannah
Moruzzi, Marriage & Family Life Communications Officer at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference
of England & Wales
She adds,”the key thing that we have going on during Marriage
Week are the celebrations around the country.”
UK Marriage Week continues until
February 14th. Listen
