Pope Benedict XVI names Cardinal Ivan Dias special envoy for Vietnam Jubilee celebration

Pope Benedict XVI has named the prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Cardinal Ivan Dias, his special envoy to the celebration marking the closure of the Jubilee year of the Church in Vietnam. The Jubilee is marking the 350th anniversary of the creation fo the first to Vicariates Apostolic and the 50th anniversary of the institution of the Catholic hierarchy in the country. Celebrations are taking place at the Marian sanctuary of Va Lang from the 4th to the 6th of January.
