Concern is being expressed that the ruling junta in Burma is continuing to perpetrate
grave violations of human rights against ethnic civilians. Christian Solidarity Worldwide
says despite the release of pro democracy leader Ang San Su Kyi and recent elections
it has received reports of military attacks and forced labour. CSW’s East Asia
Team Leader Benedict Rogers, told Vatican Radio that, “what we’ve seen in recent weeks

seems to be an increase in the military offensives…”
He adds that, “this is
part of the regimes attempt to wipe out all opposition and particularly to target
the ethnic groups”. Listen to full interview with Lydia O'Kane
