In an effort to find out more about Cardinal John Henry Newman's "Praise to the holiest
in the height" , part of his dramatic poem "The Dream of Gerontius"..." we join
music historian Monsignor Philip Whitmore in a programme produced by Veronica Scarisbrick.

Newman's "Dream of Geronitius " was composed in 1900 and first performed in Birmingham
. Three years later it received its first London performance.. in the newly opened
Westminster Cathedral..."
