Middle East Peace Talks Begin in United States

(01 Sept 10 - RV) Israel's defence minister said today the Jewish state would be willing to hand over parts of Jerusalem in peace talks with the Palestinians being launched by U.S. President Barack Obama.

The announcement comes just a day after four Israelis were shot to death in an attack in the West Bank.

This week’s direct talks in Washington come after months of US-mediated indirect talks.
