Pope’s missionary prayer intention for September

(Sept.01,2010) The Missionary Prayer intention for September is that by opening our hearts to love, we may put an end to wars and conflicts, which continue to cause bloodshed in the world. Perhaps you may wonder what war has to do with missions. Well, ask any missionary, striving to bring the Gospel to people, who are caught up in a war or conflict. War hinders evangelization .In times of war, people fear for their lives. Some are forced to fight, others try to flee, while many grieve for their dead.
In September’s missionary prayer intention, Pope Benedict XVI asks us to open our hearts to love, saying that peace is possible, if there is a conversion of heart through the Gospel and the grace of God. Only through fraternal love, can hatred can be overcome, so that all may live like one human family, as God desired, says the Pope.
