Pope’s General Prayer Intention for September

(Aug.31,2010) The General Prayer intention for the month of September is that “the proclamation of the Word of God may renew people’s hearts, encouraging them to work toward authentic world progress.
Pope Benedict XVI says that the Word of God is a foundation for everything, yet we build our lives on money, believing it brings security. Recalling the ongoing financial crises worldwide caused by the fall of large banks, the Pope says - the one who builds his life on money, success and power, builds upon sand. Only the Word of God is the foundation of life and September’s general prayer intention reminds us that the Word of God is our rock and our inspiration. The Holy Father says we are faithful to the Word of God when we respect the rights of every person and work with love to help those who suffer. So, let us pray that all may follow the teachings of the Gospel and work for the authentic welfare of everyone.
