Haiti Marks Six Month Anniversary Since Devastating Quake
(RV- 15 July 10) This week marks six months since one of the most devastating natural
disasters in the history of the Western Hemisphere. The Haiti Earthquake of January
12th killed over 200,000 people and left more than 1 million homeless.
In
the past six months, the international community has pledged billions of dollars to
help rebuild the country.
The United States alone has pledged over $1 billion
in aid to the country.
The Chargé of the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See, Julieta
Valls Noyes, spoke to us about what still needs to be done in the country six months
later.
