Diplomats to Vote on Fourth Round of Sanctions on Iran
(8 June 10-RV) President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned Iran will not agree to talks
on its nuclear program if a fourth round of UN sanctions are imposed this week. The
sanctions would tighten financial curbs and shipping inspections on Iran, and expand
a limited arms embargo. Diplomats are expected hold a vote on sanctions tomorrow
and there is little doubt the resolution will be adopted. Michael Rubin is a resident
scholar at the Washington DC Based American Enterprise institute. He says that Ahmadinejad’s
warnings are normal Iranian behaviour and that multilateral sanctions are intended
