(05 May 10 - RV) Britain's party leaders criss-crossed the country making a final
push for votes today, in the last day of campaigning before tomorrow's parliamentary
election as two opinion polls pointed to an inconclusive result.
Conservatives
are leading with about 30% of the vote, but the Labour Party could still win the greatest
number of seats. Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrats are showing their strongest ratings
in decades.
Lord David Alton is a crossbench peer in the House of Lords.
He says whichever party wins the elections will have to tackle several issues of
importance for Catholics
