Initiative Explores Therapeutic Potential of Intestinal Stem Cells
(30 Apr 10 - RV) This week it was announced that scientists at the University of Maryland
in the US will be leading a new international research initiative that will explore
the therapeutic potential of intestinal stem cells. The initiative is being support
by the Holy See will involve several institutes in Italy, including the Catholic Bambin
Gesù hospital in Rome. The scientist leading the project at the University of
Maryland, Professor Alessio Fasano, spoke to us about the importance of the Church’s
support.
