Biblical Commission’s plenary assembly on “Inspiration and Truth in the Bible”
(April 12, 2010) The Vatican’s Pontifical Biblical Commission on Monday began a 3-day
plenary assembly in Rome on the theme, “Inspiration and Truth in the Bible”. The
April 12 to 14 meeting is being presided over by US Card. William Levada and Fr. Klemens
Stock, president and secretary general respectively of the Pontifical Biblical Commission.
Cardinal Levad is also the pprefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine
of the Faith. Participants in the plenary assembly will concentrate on assessing
how the themes of inspiration and truth are presented in several biblical accounts.
Each member of the commission will present a report that will be discussed collectively
by the assembly.
