Workshops for Formators on Communications to be held
(April 06, 2010) The Commission for Social Communications of the Catholic Bishops
Conference of India, ( CBCI) is organising this year nine workshops for the formation
of personnel in different parts of the country. The Commission has brought out three
books entitled “Communications for Pastoral Leadership”, a set of resource materials
and started a website (communicationformation.com). It has also formed a national
resource team to assist formation centres and seminaries in India. The workshops
deal with the three different levels or stages of formation. Level I is intended for
those, who are responsible for formation in Apostolic Schools, Minor seminaries, Pre-novitiate
stages of formation, and those who are interested in introducing a course in communication
among Catholic youth groups, pastoral centres, for youth hostels or boarding schools
etc. The workshop will aim at enabling Formators in introducing Basics of Social
Communications. Level II is intended for those, who are involved in formation
of students of Philosophy, novice masters and novice mistresses, and post novitiate
formation prior to theology etc. Level III is intended for those, who are staff
of theological colleges, on-going formation programmes and those who are interested
in introducing theology of communication for religious or lay groups. The first
of the nine Workshops is being held at Nobi Communications, Bangalore, Karnataka State
from April 11-17 for Level I. The dates and venue of the other workshops are to be
announced shortly.
